Due to the recent rapid expansion of new and renewable energy, import of related equipment has also increased rapidly.
Solar modules made with simple assembly in Korea following the import of solar cells are not required to bear a marking of the country of origin, and Korea may be marked as the country of origin.
As a result, there are concerns of a possible negative influence on domestic solar equipment companies that use domestic solar cells and confusion among consumers.
Therefore, the aim is to have the person intending to manufacture or import & sell new and renewable energy equipment mark the country of origin of the equipment (Establishment of Article 13-3 and Article 34(4) of the draft).
