1. Reasons for Amendment

This Amendment prescribes technical standards in accordance with the adoption of new technologies and study findings from material (STS290) performance tests and clarifies test/inspection standards pursuant to the amended technical standards, thereby aiming to prevent confusion in the interpretation and operation of the standards. 

2. Major Provisions

A. Newly insert a definition of the term “basalt mineral composite” (Article 2 (6))

B. Prescribe thicknesses for basalt mineral composites and synthetic resins (Article 3 (12))

C. Prescribe provisions on materials and introduce new tests in accordance with performance test study findings and the recognition of new technologies

 - Add STS 290 to stainless steel materials (Article 7 (2)).

 - Delete thickness provisions and add the term “basalt mineral composite” (Article 7 (3)). 

 - Introduce tensile strength and flame resistance tests for basalt mineral composites (Article 7 (3)).

D. Introduce an impact test for basalt mineral composites (Article 9 (2))
