A Japanese engineer working for the headquarters of Company P applied for D-8 visa as he was being dispatched to the company's subsidiary in Korea. However, he underwent difficulties in obtaining the visa, for the Korean consulate required excessive documents.

Resolution and Results
A request was made to let the employee enter Korea without a visa and have his status of stay changed to D-8 afterwards. Outcome: The employee had his status of stay changed in Korea and obtained an alien registration card with the assistance from the OIO.
